This includes ensuring full compliance with regulatory bodies such as the Philippine Electricity Market Corporation (PEMC), Independent Electricity Market Operator of the Philippines (IEMOP), Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP), and the Department of Energy (DOE). The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in WESM trading and compliance (mandatory), a strong analytical mindset, and the ability to respond effectively to real-time market dynamics. Exposure to the Reserve Market (RR, CR, DR) is a strong advantage. <Key Responsibilities:> 1. WESM Trading (Core Function) - Formulate and execute daily, weekly, and monthly trading strategies. - Manage and coordinate with the 3rd-party trading team (Powersense) to ensure accurate and compliant submission of offers/bids via the WESM MMS for both energy and reserve markets. - Conduct market studies, forecasting, and offer optimization based on market trends, generation availability, and demand forecasts. - Monitor Day-Ahead and Real-Time schedule deviations and react to real-time market events with agility. - Analyze market clearing prices (MCP), trends, and competitor strategies to drive profitability while minimizing risk. - Work closely with trading team, site team, and operations team to ensure unit availability and alignment with dispatch instructions. 2.
